Who Qualifies For Your Bursary Or Student Loan From NSFAS?



The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has officially opened the 2025 application system.

Applications are actually open and may close on 15 December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant should fulfill the following criteria:

• Be a South African citizen or copyright who arises from a house that has a combined gross home income that does not exceed R350 000 for each annum.

• Individuals with disabilities qualify if their combined residence income isn't going to exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients immediately qualify for funding and wish not post any proof of income.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open to all South African citizens and permanent citizens from households with combined R350 000 and R600 000 per annum.

Applicants nsfas application are reminded to provide the correct Identity Doc numbers, names, and surname, as mirrored inside their South African ID.

NSFAS only funds people who are learning or intend to research in a public university or TVET college nsfas status in South Africa.

All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to check here wait until the last day.

Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
